Our home, not yours: Moses bites back at Tigers

Mitchell Moses had a simple message for his old club after the Easter Monday thumping, declaring 'this is our home, not yours'.

In a cheeky shot at his former club, Moses admitted claims from his former teammates that Bankwest Stadium, which will host four Tigers home games in 2019, was as much as their home as Parramatta's riled the Eels in the lead-up to the game.

"There was a fair bit of emotion. I only grew up around the corner and I used to come watch Parramatta all the time," Moses said.

"I think the Tigers were trying to say it was their home ground. We took it pretty personally to be honest. They've got four games here, yeah, yeah.

"But when they're versing us it's not their home ground. We wanted to stake a claim there and show them it's not their home ground."

Moses, who was outstanding in a man-of-the-match performance that saw the Eels notch their fourth win in six games, was last week offered a three-year contract extension.

It comes six months after he was shown the door by the club, turning it all around after rocking up to pre-season with a rejuvenated outlook and renewed attitude.

The last time Moses was off contract it was a long drawn-out process which was played out in the media, resulting in a bitter departure from his old club.

The Eels No.7 admits he's learned a lot of lessons from the way he handled his last contract negotiations.

"Last time was a bit of a shambles," Moses admitted.

"I have learnt to block it out and just play footy. If I am paying goody footy, everything else sorts itself out. I've left it up to my management and if I play well they'll sort it all out."

Moses said he felt like he owed the club after a disappointing 2018 campaign which culminated in the wooden spoon.

"I wasn't happy with my form at all last year," he said.

"We were 0-6 at this time last year. Definitely I owed them a fair bit."
