The NRL's next generation are ready to step up in 2019 and the fans have the chance to step up too and have your say on who you think are the rising stars in the Telstra Premiership this season.
The NRL has linked with Powerade to bring fans the Next Generation Player of the Week, where fans are given the opportunity to vote for the two standout youngsters of each round.
On Mondays, fans can head to the NRL's official Facebook page and Instagram and place their votes for their players of the round.
The Instagram stories poll will be live for 24 hours but you’ve got until Wednesday night to cast your vote on Facebook. The winners will be announced each Thursday.
To be eligible, players must be under 24 years of age as of January 1, 2019 and have less than 50 NRL matches under their belt.
The youngsters who shone the brightest in 2018 were Nathan Cleary who helped NSW to its first Origin series victory since 2014, Clint Gutherson who cranked up 2,355 running metres throughout the season, Josh Addo-Carr who scored 19 tries from 17 line breaks, Kalyn Ponga who ranked third in the competition for tackle breaks (140) and Jamayne Isaako who came in at second for most points scored (239).
To commemorate their efforts in 2018, Powerade will feature their faces and key stats on millions of bottles distributed across the country in 2019.
Cleary, Gutherson and Addo-Carr are no longer eligible to be awarded the Next Generation player of the week in 2019 but Ponga and Isaako remain in contention, alongside the likes of Victor Radley, David Fifita, Zac Lomax, Jesse Ramien, Viliame Kikau, Cameron Murray and Curtis Scott.
Ponga enjoyed a breakout season in 2018 after switching to Newcastle from North Queensland. He starred at the back for the Knights as they rose up the ladder and also made his State of Origin debut, putting in a superb performance off the bench in game two at ANZ Stadium which announced his arrival as a genuine superstar of the game.
Isaako was named the Dally M rookie of the year after producing an eye-catching debut season on the wing for Brisbane, including a couple of memorable match-winning performances under pressure. He was rewarded with selection in New Zealand's Test team at the end of the season.
