South Sydney forward Zane Musgrove will appeal the severity of the fine handed down to him on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to a charge of intentionally or recklessly destroying/damaging property.

Musgrove appeared at the Downing Centre Local Court in Sydney where charges of common assault and common assault domestic violence were withdrawn by the prosecution.

A conviction was recorded, Musgrove was fined $1,100 and was ordered to pay $500 compensation for the damage to a gate following an incident in Zetland earlier this year.

The Rabbitohs released a statement to say "the court's judgment will now be reviewed very closely by the club to determine whether further sanctions are required".

Musgrove's appeal is set to be heard in November.

The Rabbitohs said they have kept the NRL Integrity Unit informed throughout the process and will be making no further comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, Fairfax Media has reported Manly rookie Manase Fainu has escaped conviction after pleading guilty to filming, without consent, a sex act after the matter was heard in Fairfield Local Court on Tuesday.
