After bursting onto the Origin scene in a blaze of Blue glory, Josh Addo-Carr is daring to dream of wearing green and gold at the end of the year.
The 22-year-old has had a breakout 12 months with a Telstra Premiership victory in 2017 and an Origin series win with NSW this year.
Addo-Carr was named in Mal Meninga's Origin merit team after contributing two tries, 376 running metres and excelling in big moments throughout the three games.
A maiden Test jumper would put the icing on the cake for the Melbourne winger.
"That would be an awesome experience," Addo-Carr said.
"I've obviously seen that [the Merit Team]. Mal's got a hard decision to make to pick through both sides I suppose. If that opportunity comes up, I'd try and take it with both hands. But at this point, I'm focused on playing football for the mighty Storm."
Addo-Carr is battling Kangaroos incumbents Dane Gagai, Tom Trbojevic and Valentine Holmes for a spot on the wing against New Zealand and Tonga in October. The fact his Storm team appear set for a deep finals run will only help his chances.
It would be natural to think Addo-Carr would start feeling better about his game after an Origin series win, but he hasn't let the success go to his head.
"For me, I prepare the same every week," he said.
"I guess you get a bit of confidence. But if I treat every game the same, I can play my best football.
"Playing with boys like James Maloney, Jack de Belin - other boys from other sides was an awesome experience. It definitely helped me grow as a player. I can't wait to do it again."
After some low-scoring games in recent weeks, the Raiders present a different challenge to the table-topping Storm on Saturday at AAMI Park.
Ricky Stuart's team are the competition's best in attack, having scored an impressive 448 points.
The Storm boast plenty of strike power of their own, but Addo-Carr says the premiers have plenty left to improve in their offensive game.
"Our defence has been good this year. But the scary thing is we've got a lot more improvement in our attack," he said.
