It's a rivalry 110 years old and now it's spilling over into social media.
Leading into Thursday night's mouth-watering rivalry game between the Sydney Roosters and the South Sydney Rabbitohs, #thegreatestrivalry in the greatest game of all has been riveting.
The banter began on Tuesday, with South Sydney tweeting a video about their heritage while having a dig at the Roosters.
To which the Chooks then replied "Salty Souths".
Souths backed up on Wedneday to take another fun jab at the Roosters.
Cue a highlights package narrated by the Roosters great Anthony Minichiello:
South Sydney's Hollywood star owner Russell Crowe joined in, posting a tweet to promote a story on the club's website about Rabbitohs legend Albert Clift's regret at seeing Craig Wing play for the Roosters in 2004.
Then on Thursday, the Roosters made reference to South Sydney's expulsion from the NRL at the turn of the century. Ouch! That's #toosoon for most Rabbitohs fans.
Of course, the Bunnies couldn't let that slide so they jumped back on the timeline!
And then there were shots fired from the Bunnies again, this time making fun of the Roosters' lack of juniors:
And in the lead-up to kick-off, Crowe jumped on Twitter again to remind fans of the significance of the day.
And thennnnnnn:
Keep checking the Rabbitohs and Roosters' social channels as the banter continues. If the pre-game battle is any indication it's going to be a great game.
