Western Australia referee Alison Watters has been selected as a match official for the 2017 Women's Rugby League World Cup.
Alison, a highly regarded and respected level 6 NRL touch football referee, completed her rugby league accreditation earlier this year as part of the NRL WA/NRL Touch Football WA Tackle Touch Refereeing initiative where match officials from both codes were given the opportunity to gain qualifications in the opposite game.
In a very short time Alison has demonstrated on-field behaviours that now position her as the leading female NRL WA referee and a fantastic role model for the local game and girls aiming to follow this NRL Pathway opportunity.
This year's Rugby League World Cup will also include the Women's Rugby League World Cup. The majority of matches in the Women's Tournament will be held in Sydney with all games (excluding the Final) being played at Southern Cross Group Stadium, Cronulla.
