NRL.com rates the performances of all 17 Melbourne Storm players in the 2017 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final.
1. Billy Slater
What more can you say about this guy? With a career in doubt two years ago, Slater capped off a remarkable return season with a sublime grand final performance. Withheld an early assault in the air from the Cowboys halves to then send Felise Kaufusi over for the side's second try. Just about cemented the result with a trademark dummy to score one of his own minutes before half-time and linked with Cooper Cronk and Cameron Smith late in the game to cap off a memorable win. Was awarded the Clive Churchill medal after being judged man of the match. 9/10
2. Suliasi Vunivalu
Spilt the ball early on impact after some strong Cowboys defence and looked bothered with a knee injury before the break, but remained on the field to churn out a solid performance on the wing without standing out. 7/10
3. Will Chambers
Saw plenty of ball to rack up over 175 metres to confirm his status as one of the best centres in the game. Was defensively sound against Maroons teammate Justin O'Neill and provided the offload for Josh Addo-Carr's four-pointer. 8.5/10
4. Curtis Scott
Had a quiet first half with not much attack going his way, but capped off a solid rookie season with a grand final try against the run of play and never missed a tackle. 7.5/10
5. Josh Addo-Carr
Raced away for the game's opening try to set ANZ Stadium alight and looked at home on the big stage to finish with 157 metres. Finished off a brilliant team effort late in the game to go over for a second – capping off a remarkable season for the flyer. 8.5/10
6. Cameron Munster
Came up with a big hit on Lachlan Coote from a kick chase that set the tone early, and was involved in two separate push and shove incidents with Jason Taumalolo and Ben Hampton. Came into the game when required and provided a perfect back up for Cronk and Smith. 8/10
7. Cooper Cronk
If it was the final time rugby league fans will see Cooper Cronk in a club jersey, he's gone out a winner with a professional performance. Had nine runs for the clash and looked a constant threat with the ball in hand. 8.5/10
8. Jesse Bromwich
The prop made a line break early that should've resulted in Melbourne's opening try, but muscled up in defence in the early stages and did everything that was required. A shame he won't feature in this year's Rugby League World Cup. 8/10
9. Cameron Smith
He's not nicknamed the GOAT for no reason. Absolute freak of a performance and owned the contest from the start. Had a running game early with nine runs in the first half and applied kick pressure on the Cowboys' halves throughout. Finished the match with a season-high 133 metres. If he wasn't Clive Churchill medallist, he wouldn't have been far off. 9.5/10
10. Jordan McLean
Had a strong first stint and along with Bromwich, limited the threat of Jason Taumalolo early. Returned to the paddock late and did all that was required of him against his future club. 7.5/10
11. Felise Kaufusi
Didn't have a run in the opening 20 minutes but was soon over for the side's second try of the night with a traditional line-run off Slater. Capped off a remarkable rookie season with a premiership win and proved the perfect replacement following the loss of Kevin Proctor to the Titans this year. 8/10
12. Tohu Harris
Was the best forward on the paddock in the opening 40 minutes with 85 metres and a steamrolling effort to bust through the Cowboys' defensive line. Had a small break in the second but maintained the rage upon his return to the field, setting up Addo-Carr with a long pass for his second. 9/10
13. Dale Finucane
Gave away the first penalty of the contest but produced a tradesman-like performance with 34 tackles. Capped off the result with a match-winning 64th minute try that helped finally end the lock-forward's premiership drought. 8/10
14. Kenny Bromwich
Had minimal input with only five carries in 26 minutes, but never put a foot wrong. 6/10
15. Tim Glasby
Gave a penalty away in second half that enabled the Cowboys the chance to get on the board, before leaving the field for a head injury assessment. Later returned to see out the clash and did a solid job. 6.5/10
16. Nelson Asofa-Solomona
Continued the momentum created by the starting props with some monster runs – providing the impact that was required of him with 98 metres from eight carries in just 24 minutes. 8.5/10
17. Slade Griffin
Never got on the paddock until the 68th minute with the game sewn up, but leaves the club a premiership winner. 6/10
