As the Warriors stare down the barrel of a seventh-straight defeat, playmaker Kieran Foran said improving the smallest areas of his side's game could be the key to remedying their spluttering attack.

‌Averaging just 12.5 points scored per match in their last four encounters, last week's 36-16 loss to the Canberra Raiders was the first time in a month that the Warriors have managed to score more than two tries in a game, as they battle through without injured halfback Shaun Johnson.

But Foran said extra efforts off the ball in attack would quickly turn things around ahead of Friday night's clash against the South Sydney Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium.

"Just [things like] pushing up in attack, as you saw 'Mase' (Mason Lino) and Ata [Hingano] found themselves making a few line breaks last week, so we just need guys pushing up in support for the pass," Foran said.

"I think that's the improvement this week, if we make those busts and get through the line, to have guys pushing up there to take that offload and get the ball over the try-line."

Last week the Warriors enjoyed majority possession, completed at 84 per cent and made six line breaks, but more often than not failed to execute inside the attacking 20.

Young half Lino has paid the price, losing his spot in the No.7 jersey to Hingano, with coach Stephen Kearney seeking improved finishes to their sets.

After struggling to form a fluid combination with Lino in their three games together this year Foran hoped to avoid any such teething problems with Hingano, who he will start a game with for the first time.

"Hopefully not, we have both got to work hard this week on the combination and making sure that we know our roles and getting the boys around the field," Foran said.

"Fingers crossed that we both really gel out there on Friday night and do what we need to do for the team and play our best footy.

"I am really looking forward to playing alongside Ata, I thought him and Mase were great last week and did everything they could to get the boys over the line.

"Ata, I think he has progressed really well through the year and he showed everyone last week what he is capable of.

"Hopefully he can do that again this week, because we need him to, and he can break a game wide open."
