Manly pair Dylan Walker and Nate Myles are expected to be cleared of any serious injury after copping heavy knocks against the Titans on Saturday night, paving the way for possible State of Origin selection for the Blues and Maroons respectively on Monday.
Myles was the major concern post-game after he failed to return to the field for the second half due to a knock to the knee but Sea Eagles medical staff confirmed that there is no structural damage and that he should recover in time should he be selected by Queensland coach Kevin Walters.
Walker also suffered a contact injury in the quadriceps region, managing to play out the game and score the match-winner after incurring the injury in a heavy collision with Titans winger Dale Copley early in the second half.
Both Walker and Myles declined to be interviewed after the game but Myles appeared in good spirits as he spent time catching up with friends from his time on the Gold Coast, his greatest cause for concern selection as opposed to any injury that might rule him out.
Manly coach Trent Barrett confirmed that Myles would receive scans on the knee when the team returned to Sydney but the initial diagnosis was that it was a bone-on-bone collision with Titans skipper Ryan James.
"He's pretty dejected at the moment," Barrett said.
"We're not sure what it is. It was a knee collision so we don't know.
"He's pretty disappointed but hopefully it's not too serious. We'll know more when we get home."
Walker suffered a cork to his left quad when Copley's knee crashed into his leg as he attempted to make a tackle but he was also in high spirits after what was a commanding 30-10 win at Cbus Super Stadium.
On top of the two tries, three tackle breaks, 133 run metres and nightmares that he caused for Titans opposite Jarryd Hayne in defence, Barrett believes the toughness Walker showed to play on in discomfort is another reason he should be named in the New South Wales team on Monday.
"I thought it was a real tough performance from him," Barrett said.
"He was busted at the end of there and came up with the try that got us home in the end.
"He just proved tonight that he's worthy of that centre spot in the Origin side.
"It was an audition for him tonight and under a fair bit of duress he came through and played terrific, and he has done all year.
"He's a different player than what he was last year when he got picked."
