Brisbane five-eighth Anthony Milford says he is not feeling any extra pressure heading into Thursday night's important clash with the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.
The comments come after Broncos fullback Darius Boyd leapt to the defence of his under-fire halves earlier in the week, telling media that it was 'silly' to blame them for Brisbane's run of poor form.
The Broncos have struggled of late, losing six of their last eight, and a large portion of the blame has been directed towards Brisbane's halves combination as they've struggled to take control of matches and guide their team to victory.
Wayne Bennett's men have slipped from top of the table to sixth, and now find themselves three points outside the top four and struggling to find form.
But Milford told NRL.com his mindset had not changed and that although criticism towards himself and halves partner Ben Hunt was warranted, it won't change the way he approaches each match.
"I'm not feeling under pressure," Milford said.
"Each weekend is the same for me. I get to the game and I'm excited to go out there and play my best.
"It's about doing my part in the game to the best of my ability. In the past couple of weeks I haven't been doing that.
"Any halves pairing in the NRL that hasn't been performing at their best will get the same criticism Ben and I have received.
"We need to steer the team and point the boys in the right direction."
Milford started the year on fire, scoring eight tries in seven games, and it's no coincidence that Brisbane managed to win six of those matches on the way to becoming premiership favourites.
It's this type of form that Broncos fans are yearning for after watching Brisbane lose touch with the competition's best, with the top-of-the-table Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks now 12 points ahead of Milford's side on the NRL ladder.
Milford believes the Broncos still have time to return to their best and once again become title contenders.
"There's a real determination to turn the season around and get our year back on track," he said.
"It's about having the belief that we're a strong side that can be a force in the finals.
"We want to get back to where we were and that all starts on Thursday night.
"We can turn it around. If we stick to our structure then form will follow."
