Roosters winger Daniel Tupou is in doubt for the Tricolours' clash against the Titans on Monday night, still carrying an injury to his right latissimus dorsi.

Tupou has missed two matches with the injury and if he is ruled out it would leave the Roosters without both their usual wingers with Shaun Kenny-Dowall (ankle) also unavailable.

Tupou is no stranger to lat injuries having torn his left one during the 2014 State of Origin series, which left him sidelined for six weeks.

"I'm definitely looking forward to hopefully getting back this week but at the moment I'm still in doubt because we haven't had too many sessions together over the past few days," Tupou told NRL.com.

"I'll see how I go at the physio who has the last say but I definitely feel comfortable at the moment."

Tupou suffered the injury against the Panthers in Round 7 in what was easily his worst game of the season so far. Tupou played on with the injury in the second half but it came at the cost of four errors.

The 24-year-old said it had been a frustrating period on the sidelines after that performance.

"It was very hard to walk away from that game knowing I didn't play well. I'm definitely on the lookout to make up for it to be honest. It comes down to preparation and hopefully I can get that started soon so I'm right for Monday," he said.

"I could've been right for the Newcastle game [in Round 9] but the physio said just rest up for one more week, so I've been mentally trying to get around it my last performance and I'm definitely out to improve."

Tupou admitted his performances so far this season hadn't been helped by the departure of his old centre partner Michael Jennings to the Eels.

Tupou has scored only twice in six appearances this year, compared to his 16-try haul in 27 games in 2015.

"Jenko was a massive loss for me and the club. We had an awesome combination going there and I'll never forget that," he said.

"I think it has influenced the way I've played [him leaving] but I guess it's time to move on and learn the ways of the other outside backs here."
