When you sit down near the bottom of the ladder after a quarter of the season any victory is important, but Manly believe their Round 6 defeat of the Warriors could be season-changing.

The Sea Eagles' 34-18 win on Saturday night lifts them up to six competition points after a frustrating start to the year, and on their way to outscoring the Warriors by five tries to three they completed at a season-high 82 per cent.

Following the win at Mt Smart Stadium Manly lock Jake Trbojevic labelled the triumph as his side's best performance so far in 2016.

"Definitely, I think it was our best, to come over here against the Warriors – who were coming off a couple of wins – and to beat them is great," he said.

"Hopefully this just gets our season kick-started and we can really start to build.

"It's got to give us a lot of confidence you would think. Coming over here in tough circumstances and winning, I think it was a really good moment for our team and should be a really good confidence-builder.

"But it doesn't get any easier for us, we have got Parramatta on Thursday night at Brookvale and they are going really well this year, but hopefully we can use this and come out firing."

Sea Eagles coach Trent Barrett didn't hold back in his post-match praise either, saying his players had executed his plan to perfection.

"I am really happy for them, they have done a terrific job," Barrett said.

"We had a big job to do against a side that had won two in a row with some pretty dangerous players, but I thought to a man we didn't have a bad player today.

"I thought Api [Koroisau] and Dylan [Walker] did a really good job again in the halves and our senior players led the way early on.

"It was just a really good win.

"We built our way into the game, we had a pretty simple plan and I thought every one of them played very well."

Meanwhile Trbojevic spoke about the special moment in the 78th minute of the match when he provided the final pass for younger brother, Tom, to score under the posts.

"That was pretty cool… It was obviously pretty good for our parents, grandparents and brothers who were watching back home; they would have been very happy.

"It's pretty special to get to do this with your brother."
