Top 10 NRL Fantasy performances of 2015

There were a number of standout performers in NRL Fantasy in 2015 from Fantasy stalwarts, rising stars and some of the most exciting players in the competition, and in these games the following players were almost untouchable.

Let's take a look back at the top 10 Fantasy performances of 2015.

10. Tyrone Peachey (Panthers): 91, Round 23 v Warriors

With injuries again cruelling Penrith's chances in 2015, a number of players were asked to play out of position during the season. One Panther to thrive in a new role was Peachey who played five-eighth against the Warriors. The young forward scored a try and made four line breaks, eight tackle breaks and 29 tackles on his way to a season-high 91.

9. Shaun Fensom (Raiders): 91, Round 11 v Bulldogs

Generally a reliable 80-minute lock, Fensom's minutes were reduced slightly in 2015 with new recruit Sia Soliola in particular taking time off the Bellingen Dorrigo Magpies junior. But when he did play out the entire game, Fensom went big. In Round 11 he scored a try, ran for 178 metres and made 55 tackles, three tackle breaks and three offloads. A cult favourite among Raiders supporters and Fantasy coaches alike, Fensom still proved a consistent option in the back-row despite his reduced playing time.

8. Semi Radradra (Eels): 94, Round 26 v Raiders

One of Parramatta's best in 2015, Radradra had a field day against the Green Machine on the final day of the season despite his side going down in extra time. Two tries, 234 metres, three line breaks, a line-break assist and a staggering 12 tackle breaks saw the Fijian flyer finish his season in style.

7. James Segeyaro (Panthers): 94, Round 20 v Raiders

Much like Peachey, Segeyaro's role in the Panthers side changed through the season, whether it was starting at hooker or coming on from the interchange. Despite Penrith's loss to the Raiders in Round 20, Segeyaro was busy for the home side, producing a try, 41 tackles, 93 metres, a try assist, a line break, a line-break assist, six tackle breaks, and five offloads in an industrious performance.

6. Robbie Farah (Wests Tigers): 95, Round 25 v Warriors

Told in the week prior to the match with the Warriors that he was deemed surplus to requirements for 2016, Robbie Farah responded in the best possible fashion with a man-of-the-match performance at Campbelltown Stadium. Having missed a large portion of the middle of the season through injury, the Tigers skipper wouldn't have been in many Fantasy sides, but those who held onto him were rewarded as he scored a try, assisted three, made two line breaks, a line-break assist, five tackle breaks and 37 tackles for his best game of the year.

5. Shaun Johnson (Warriors): 99, Round 16 v Raiders

The 2014 Golden Boot winner had a slow start to 2015, drastically dropping in value before he steadied the ship with three scores in the 50s between Rounds 7-9. But it was his 99 against the Raiders in Round 16 that saw him go agonisingly close to the best individual Fantasy performance of the season, a purple patch that also saw him score 96 against the Titans in Round 15 and 93 against the Storm in Round 18. His terrific run only came to an end through a season-ending ankle injury en route to the try-line in Round 20.

4. Ben Hunt (Broncos): 98, Round 25 v Rabbitohs

Round 25 was the night the Broncos signalled their premiership intentions, smashing the reigning premiers at Allianz Stadium. Key to the victory were halves Anthony Milford and Ben Hunt, with the latter running in three tries, assisting a further two, and making four tackle breaks, 368 kick metres, and 101 run metres. It was actually the second time in 2015 that Hunt hit 98, having reached that total earlier in the year against the Titans (Round 20).

3. David Taylor (Titans): 99, Round 25 v Dragons

Departing the Titans and the NRL at the conclusion of the 2015 season, Taylor saved his best for last in his final home game for the club as the Gold Coast downed the finals-bound Dragons. It was a phenomenal performance from 'The Coal Train', who lived up to his moniker with 11 tackle breaks, two line breaks, two tries, 120 metres and 35 tackles to finish his time at Cbus Super Stadium in style.

2. James Tedesco (Wests Tigers): 100, Round 14 v Rabbitohs

A Wests Tigers side without Aaron Woods and Robbie Farah weren't expected to trouble a South Sydney outfit minus Greg Inglis, but it was a massive win for Jason Taylor's team in Round 14 with Martin Taupau and fullback James Tedesco leading the charge. The City Origin representative ran for 194 metres, scored two tries, saved one, had two line breaks, a line-break assist, and a handy 13 tackle breaks to finish with a perfect 100.

1. Matthew Scott (Cowboys): 105, Round 12 v Sea Eagles

The best individual Fantasy performance of the season came from the Cowboys front-rower, who was a man on a mission against a Sea Eagles side in the midst of a mid-season revival. Finishing the night with two rare tries, 147 metres, two line breaks, 39 tackles and eight tackle breaks, it was a night to remember for Scott who despite his monster score of 105 averaged just over 46 points per game for the season.
