NRL Fiji Development staff conducted school holiday clinics in Sigatoka and Ra.
Sigatoka Holiday Clinic
The Sigatoka clinic was a huge success with 140 boys and girls participating in a fun and eventful day.
The day consisted of a two hour clinic followed by modified games played in between FNRL Resident Selection trial games. A total of 18 teams from Under 6/7 through to Under 12/13 boys competed, as well as three girls teams from Under 10/11/12.
The teams participated in a round robin format that was well received by spectators and parents.
A big thank you to FNRL Development officer Suli Cakautabu and his team of local club coordinators and teachers who assisted throughout the day.
Ra Holiday Clinic
NRL Fiji staff Isikli Narawa, Ema Dereivalu and Net Koro conducted the holiday clinic in Ra which was also well received with 120 boys and girls taking part in the three hour clinic at Ra Secondary School.
The interest in Rugby League is growing quite large in Ra with the Head Principal establishing a committee of teachers to oversee NRL education programs and a Term 4 District Primary School competition.
This is another positive step in the development of the game in the Pacific.
