South Sydney Rabbitohs captain Greg Inglis will miss this Thursday’s clash with the Brisbane Broncos following minor knee surgery on Monday afternoon.

Inglis had an MRI scan on Saturday which appeared to show no significant damage to his knee.

Further discomfort experienced on Sunday led the Rabbitohs to explore the area further, with a knee surgeon finding a small fragment of loose cartilage in and around the knee joint this morning.

It was decided the best course of action was to have the fragment arthroscopically removed this afternoon, giving Inglis as much time as possible to rehabilitate the injury in the lead up to the finals.
