Nate Myles has been named to lead the Titans against the Storm in Melbourne on Sunday but coach Neil Henry has confirmed that William Zillman's season is almost certainly over.

Myles missed Monday night's win over the Eels due to a shoulder injury and although he will have to undergo further fitness tests throughout the week Henry expects he will be able to take his place in the side.

Luke Douglas was hit by a virus that sapped him of energy and caused him to be physically sick after his first stint of just 16 minutes but is in no danger of missing Sunday's difficult assignment against a Melbourne team reeling from a 34-16 defeat at the hands of Wests Tigers last Friday.

The news is not so good for Zillman who has been missing since Round 10 with a back injury and is unlikely to feature again this season as the Titans endeavour to stay clear of the dreaded wooden spoon.

"He's seeing a back specialist this week. It has settled down but it's unlikely that he's going to be right [for the rest of the season]," Henry confirmed on Tuesday.

"[Nate] has got to get that strength back in the shoulder and he said it's a lot better than what it was. He's had the long turnaround so hopefully he'll be able to take his place but we'll make a call later in the week."

Dave Taylor has kept his spot on the bench with confirmation on Tuesday morning that this will be his final season at the Titans, agreeing to join the Catalans Dragons in the Super League on a two-year deal starting in 2016.

It's the third high-profile departure from the current Titans squad with David Shillington (Raiders) and Nathan Friend (Warriors) the only notable signings headed for the Gold Coast next season.

Gold Coast are close to adding former Knight Zeb Taia and exciting Broncos prospect Ashley Taylor and Henry said that with money to spend the club will be active in the player market in the coming months.

"We've got a couple of things in the pipeline but we've just got to get things signed off," Henry said. "Obviously 'Shillo' has been done and we will have a couple of spots in our top 25 to look at beyond that so we're certainly going to be active in the market.

"We've negotiated with [Taia] and it looks likely but at the moment it hasn't been finalised.

"I don't know about Ben Te'o. I think he's pretty entrenched in his rugby contract over [in Ireland] at the moment and indicated that he's probably going to stay with that.

"We'll certainly have a spot in the back row and we'll just have to have a look at our recruitment."

As for Taylor's future, Henry believes the less structured style of the Super League competition will favour the former Bronco and Rabbitoh.

"He's excited about an opportunity to go to another part of the world and play some football," he said.

"It's a different style of game over there too and it really might suit him because he is a very skilful player."
