The Ipswich Jets have joined the Townsville Blackhawks on top of the Intrust Super Cup table after a couple of famous footballing names got amongst the flood of points in Round 11.
Marmin Barba scored his 12th and 13th tries of the year and Chris Walker grabbed one himself as the Jets won their fourth consecutive game, accounting for Tweed Heads 32-16 at North Ipswich Reserve.
Their win, and a shock 22-16 victory by the PNG Hunters over a depleted Blackhawks team in Townsville, has tied things up at the top with the Blackhawks' only previous defeat coming at the hands of Ipswich earlier in the season.
With the Hunters recording their eighth win of the season and Wynnum Manly going down by a solitary point at home to a resurgent Northern Pride outfit, just two points separate the top four teams with Mackay in fifth spot and Easts, Burleigh and the Pride all on 12 points.
Storm winger Matt Duffie was one of three Tigers players to score a double in their 60-12 thumping of the Sunshine Coast in a lop-sided battle of Melbourne's two feeder teams.
Redcliffe also piled on the points in their clash with the Central Queensland Capras with Curtis Johnston scoring a hat-trick and former Panther Anthony Cherrington a double in a crushing 68-16 win at Dolphin Oval.
Burleigh snuck home by a point at home against Mackay 23-22 courtesy of a field goal by Ryley Jacks and Souths Logan continued their climb from the foot of the ladder with a 42-4 demolition of Norths.
