The Broncos have earned a dour win in the final pool game of the weekend, downing the Bulldogs 13-0 in a dead rubber with both sides already out of finals contention.

Playing for pride only, the two worst attacking sides of day one started their final game of the weekend in a similar vein, taking more than six minutes to open the scoring.

That finally happened when Brisbane rookie Kodi Nikorima's show and go at the line made the Bulldogs pay for some shoddy efforts around the ruck where they conceded a handful of penalties.

That was followed by a similar show and go from his younger brother Jayden Nikorima out to the left, but he was able to run around to earn a bonus zone try, making it 13-0 on the stroke of half-time.

After another sluggish start to the second half, the Bulldogs finally looked to have got on the board two minutes before full-time when Shaun Lane got into space, but the chaser knocked the ball out of his hands as he dived over.

A long-range movement downfield from the Nikorima brothers was the closest either side got to scoring in the second half as the Broncos held on to their 13-0 lead.
