Mitchell Pearce and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves will co-captain a Sydney Roosters Auckland Nines squad packed with representative experience.

Pearce's 2013 Origin and premiership-winning halves partner James Maloney has been included, along with Kiwi World Cup prop Sam Moa and winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck.

New recruits Lagi Setu, Nathan Stapleton and Willie Manu will make their club debuts while Wyong Roos playmaker Mitch Williams has also been named following an impressive pre-season under Robinson, the club said.

Other regular first-graders include Mitchell Aubusson, Dylan Napa and Kane Evans, while youngsters Jackson Hastings and Nene McDonald have been named for their second Nines tournaments.

Any players that featured in the recent Four Nations weren't considered, including Boyd Cordner, Aidan Guerra, Michael Jennings, Daniel Tupou and Shaun Kenny-Dowall.

Assistant Coach Steve McNamara told Roosters TV it was a strong squad with a good mix of senior players and young players.

"Last year we were under-prepared it but everyone was keen to go this year," he said.

"We still need to have a balance of players who are big and strong and can take you forward but you also need some flair and speed.

"We've done a bit more [Nines preparation] this year than last year... we've put some specific sessions aside this year [and] getting used to the rules and playing the game of Nines."

He listed new recruits Willie Manu, coming off a Grand Final win with St Helens in the UK Super League; Nathan Stapleton, who looks as fit as any player in the whole NRL squad; and Lagi Setu, showing some great evasive skills, as players to watch.
