Promising St George Illawarra recruit Adam Tuimavave-Gerrard is set to let his actions do the talking in 2015 with the former Warrior moving to the Dragons with two huge motives in mind.
An important member of the Warriors premiership-winning Holden Cup team, the quietly spoken Tuimavave-Gerrard has relocated to the Dragons for two reasons; his young family and to achieve his NRL dream.
His partner and 18-month-old son remaining in Auckland for the time being.
Motivating himself with the hope of supporting his family, the Marist Saints junior has geared himself up for a huge pre-season with the Red V.
"The number one reason I've moved to Australia is for my family. Moving to the Dragons is another step to allow me to [help support them and achieve my dreams]," Tuimavave-Gerrard told NRL.com.
"I miss them heaps but it will be good for us in the long run. I talk to them every day and every night. Just like any parent my little boy means the world to me and hopefully they'll come and live early next year."
Tuimavave-Gerrard, a cousin to former Warriors Evarn and Carlos Tuimavave, was picked up by the Warriors at 14 and worked his way through the grades, winning the Holden Cup in 2014.
But he has no regrets about leaving New Zealand for a chance to further his career.
"I guess the reason why I am here is because it is a great opportunity with a good coaching staff to help me better my skills," he said.
"It is a bit different and I'm learning heaps. I just can't wait to get my opportunity but I know I need to work hard for it.
"I'm here for two years and hopefully longer. To play in the NRL is my dream but I know I have to get stronger and fitter to achieve that."
Coming to the club off the back of his victorious Junior Kiwis debut, Tuimavave-Gerrard has plenty of confidence under his belt.
While he usually delivered for the Warriors in the back row or the centres, Tuimavave-Gerrard has given coach Paul McGregor another option after mixing it in the middle for the Kiwis.
"I loved the contact in the middle and it was awesome to win by one point," he said.
"Last year I was actually 18th man and didn't get to play but this year I got my chance and I'm still buzzing over it."
