Wests Tigers forward James Gavet has been granted an immediate release to join the Brisbane Broncos.
The 24-year-old Warriors junior played 12 games for the Wests Tigers in 2014 after missing the previous season through injury and playing just one game for the Bulldogs the year before, and was part of their strong early-season charge.
However he then missed a number of games due to a hamstring injury and was also stood down late in the year for breaching club protocol.
He asked the club if he could be released from the final year of his contract to join the Broncos, with Wests Tigers granting his request in time for him to join Brisbane for the squad's commencement of pre-season training in November.
"James is an extremely aggressive, powerful and very strong forward," Broncos' chief executive Paul White said in a club statement.
"We have been on the lookout for a young front rower of his style and James fits the bill perfectly.
"James has had his fair share of injury early in his career but we saw enormous potential in his performances for the Tigers this year.
"We are excited about what he could do playing for the Broncos under Wayne Bennett."
