The President of the NRL Appeals Committee, Ian Callinan AC QC, has granted Trent Elkin leave to appeal to the NRL Appeals Committee against the NRL’s decision to cancel his registration.

The Appeals Committee comprises Mr Callinan, former player Luke Priddis and former NSW Minister for Sport, Mike Cleary.

The appeal has been allowed on the sole ground to hear Mr Elkin’s contention that the cancellation of his registration was manifestly excessive.
