The NRL’s Head of Strategy and Investment, Mr Shane Mattiske, has announced his resignation.

Mr Mattiske joined the NRL as Special Projects Manager in 2002.

Shortly after the formation of the ARL Commission in 2012, Shane was appointed Interim CEO and helped to secure the most significant media rights deal that the game has seen.

Mr Mattiske said that, after 12 years with the NRL, it was time to take the next step in his career.

NRL CEO, Mr Dave Smith, said Mr Mattiske had played a key role in the development of Rugby League during a period of significant change.

“Shane has managed the Strategy and Investment team since its inception and has been integral to our plans to grow the game,” he said.

“We thank him for his hard work and wish him well in his future endeavours.”

NRL Chief Operating Officer, Mr Jim Doyle, will oversee and manage the strategy portfolio.
