The National Rugby League Integrity Unit is investigating an incident in relation to Manly's Richie Fa'aoso and is assisting with counselling support for both him and his family.
The NRL was advised of the player being charged last night and the Integrity Unit has been in contact with both the Police and the Club.
"We have clear procedures on any behavioural matter and Manly has complied with those," NRL Chief Operating Officer, Mr Jim Doyle, said today.
"There are police matters here that we have to allow to take their course but we are also able to look at some issues and to ensure that there is welfare support for the player and his family.
"Until we do have the opportunity to assess the facts it is not possible to make any further comment."
