Centre Michael Jennings scored two tries in his first game against his old club as the Roosters downed the Panthers 30-6 at Allianz Stadium in Round 8.

The Panthers did well to stay in the game up until halftime, when they trailed 10-6, but they couldn't hold the Roosters after the break. Tries to Jennings in the 51st and 63rd minutes, both converted, saw the gap between the two teams triple, and the Roosters cruised home from there.

Forwards Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, who ran for 163 metres, Boyd Cordner (140) and Sonny Bill Williams (116) proved irresistible as the match wore on, and they weren't the only Roosters who ended up finding plenty of open space.

Winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck racked up 175 metres, fullback Anthony Minichiello 156 and centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall 155. It was a strong, all-round performance that added weight to the theory that the Roosters were going to be genuine premiership contenders this season.
