Roosters and NSW legend Brad Fittler says sacked North Queensland coach Neil Henry had it coming after a disappointing four and a half seasons at the helm of the Cowboys.
Henry was informed on Monday that his services will not be required at North Queensland in 2014, with Storm assistant Kevin Walters the early favourites to succeed him.
Fittler says the writing was on the wall for Henry as the Cowboys slumped to a 6-12 record this year, leaving them in need of an improbable six-game winning streak to make the finals.
"Their results haven't been exemplary over his tenure at the Cowboys," Fittler told the SportsFan Clubhouse gang.
"He's had long enough now. He knew his job was on the line at the start of the season. They've been disgraceful, if anything. They've been really poor."
