A record-breaking crowd will converge on ANZ Stadium tomorrow night for a 2013 Holden State of Origin Series decider that will be televised live across Australia and into 90 countries and territories around the world.
With more than 83,000 people set to attend the match, making the 2013 series the most attended in history, fans are encouraged to plan their trip on public transport, arrive early and enjoy the many pre-game festivities, which include:
- Sydney Olympic Park will host its biggest ever pre-game Origin party with the Blues and Maroons supporter groups hosting events while the ANZ Stadium precinct will be themed blue with 30 bars, cafes and restaurants catering for fans of all ages;
- The major sponsor of the NSW VB Blues, Victoria Bitter, is hosting a free event at Cathy Freeman Park, with ‘The Sheds’ function the official pre-match venue for Blues fans. The event is for people aged 18 and over. ‘The Sheds’ opens at 4pm with live entertainment and appearances from Blues Origin legends. - Blues fans will also be able to cheer on the players as they arrive by bus down Australia Avenue, driving past ANZ Stadium and Allphones Arena at approximately 6pm;
- The Maroon Crusade is partnering with XXXX Gold to host Queensland’s pre-game function at Allphones Arena. The all-ages event, being hosted by Maroons legend Gary Belcher, features live entertainment, Queensland legend player appearances and prize giveaways. Queensland supporters bay ticket holders can also pick up their Queensland supporters merchandise from a pick up zone at the venue. All match tickets to Holden State of Origin Game III include travel on public transport to and from ANZ Stadium on CityRail services, all regular route bus services across Sydney, Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses and Sydney Ferries services.
Fans without a ticket to the game in their possession will need to purchase a ticket to travel on public transport. Remember to keep your ticket safe for your return journey home, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport.
Please note: an additional station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. Fans travelling from these stations will need to purchase a ticket.
Train Information: The closest train station to ANZ Stadium is Olympic Park Station. Additional services are running to Olympic Park Station to get you to and from the game.
From Central Station: At 5.09pm, 5.26pm then every 5- 8 minutes between 5.40pm to 12.30am stopping at Redfern and Strathfield.
From Lidcombe Station: Every 10 minutes between 2.50pm and 9.10pm.
From Blacktown Station: Every 8-10 minutes between 5.45pm and 1am stopping at Seven Hills, Westmead, Parramatta, Granville and Lidcombe.
Blue Mountains Line: All westbound services between 5pm and 8.30pm stop at Lidcombe.
Extra services are also running on the following lines to get you home after the game:
South Line: Leaves Lidcombe at 11pm to Campbelltown stopping at Auburn, Granville and then all stations to Campbelltown.
Newcastle/Central Coast Line: Leaves from Central at 10.45pm stopping at Eastwood, Epping, Hornsby then all stations to Newcastle.
South Coast Line: Leaves Central at 11pm stopping at Redfern, Wolli Creek, Hurstville, Sutherland, Waterfall then all stations to Dapto.
Bus Information: Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses are running on the following routes to Sydney Olympic Park: Route: 1A – Warriewood via Dee Why; 1B – Warriewood via Mona Vale; 2A – Glebe via Gladesville; 2B – Glebe via Hunters Hill; – Marsfield; 4 – Maroubra; 5A – Castle Hill; 5B – Rouse Hill; 6 – Menai; 7 – Cronulla via Miranda; 8 – Dural.
Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Bus services will start running between 3.45pm and 5pm, depending on the route.
Return bus services will depart Sydney Olympic Park after the game, with the last service departing at 11pm.
Scheduled wheelchair accessible buses will travel on each route.
Sydney Buses Route 525 operates between Parramatta and Burwood via Sydney Olympic Park.
Ferry Information: Sydney Ferries is running to a regular weekday timetable. If ferry services are full, customers can take a train which regularly depart from Circular Quay Station.
ANZ Stadium is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the stadium until 7.28pm.
Parking: Parking is subject to availability at Sydney Olympic Park. For details log on to parking at Sydney Olympic Park.
Accessibility Information: Accessible transport options can be found on the 131 500 Trip Planner by selecting “Easy Access/wheelchair accessible” under Mobility Requirements. Only transport with accessible train platforms, ferry wharves and buses will be presented.
Sydney and intercity trains: Central, Strathfield, Parramatta, Blacktown, Granville, Auburn, Lidcombe and Olympic Park stations are all wheelchair accessible.
Sydney Metropolitan Buses: Nearly all of Sydney Buses’ services are wheelchair accessible.
Sydney Ferries: The entire Sydney Ferries fleet is wheelchair accessible via wheelchair accessible ferry wharves (pending tidal and safety conditions).
Metrobus and Liverpool Parramatta T-way Buses: All Metrobus and T-way bus services are low floor wheelchair accessible.
