ARL Commission Chief Executive, Mr David Gallop, has issued the following statement regarding today’s court proceedings involving North Queensland Cowboys player Robert Lui.
“We have spoken to the Cowboys today and asked them to provide a full report as to their intended action as well as the progress of the counselling program that has already commenced,” Mr Gallop said.
“We will assess that, but at this stage Robert won’t be playing footy.
“Every case needs to be taken on its merits but a conviction involving violence against women is an issue that we take extremely seriously.”
