Despite recording their first win of the season, the Newcastle Knights face a nervous wait after captain Kurt Gidley re-aggravated a shoulder injury and was forced to leave the field after just five minutes in Sunday’s clash against the Sharks at Toyota Stadium.
Forced to miss three weeks of last season with a similar injury on the same shoulder, Gidley will be hopeful that he will not have to go under the knife for surgery this time around.
The Newcastle skipper will have scans on Monday to determine the full extent of the injury.
