Toa Samoa has announced one of their strongest line ups ever to face the New Zealand Kiwis in the historic test match between the two countries next Saturday night.
Toa Samoa head coach Steve Price, who is also the assistant coach of the NRL champion St George Illawarra Dragons, says he’s confident about the talent in his line up.
“The team we’ve selected is a brilliant mix of experience and youth,” Price says.
“The Kiwis are the world champs and we know we will receive a real challenge from them.
“Samoa has a strong and growing pool of talent that shouldn’t be underestimated.”
The Toa Samoa squad includes six former Kiwi internationals including Ali Lauitiiti, David Solomona, Tony Puletua, Ben Roberts and Francis Meli.
Also included in the squad is UK super league final winners is centre George Carmont and second rower Harrison Hansen from the Wigan Warriors.
The captain is experienced test veteran Tony Puletua of St Helens, who will be at the helm for this milestone event for Samoa.
Kick-off is at 7.30pm next Saturday October 16 at Mt Smart stadium. Gates open at 4pm for the NZ Maori vs England curtain raiser.
Let's rally the support of the community for this historic occasion by coming to the game dressed in blue to support Toa Samoa.
