The Telstra Premiership Grand Final has hit number one in Australia and New Zealand after just two days with the first ever Grand Final iPhone app now the most downloaded sporting application on iTunes.
The first ever Grand Final app in Australian sport was launched on Saturday giving Rugby League fans the chance to be a part of the Grand Final week like never before.
The official NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final app for iPhone gives fans an exciting new way to experience the thrills of the Grand Final including live scores, player profiles and videos of the greatest Grand Final moments and player profiles, statistics, team news and updates on Grand Final Day matches.
The application also provides detailed news and photo galleries for all Telstra Premiership Grand Final Week events including the One Community Awards, Men of League Ball, Grand Final Breakfast and Grand Final Fan Party at the Sydney Opera House forecourt.
“The official Grand Final iPhone application provides the NRL with a great opportunity to use new technology to improve our fans’ experience of Grand Final week and the 2010 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final,” NRL Director of Strategic Projects, Mr Shane Mattiske, said.
“We are excited to be treading new ground in Australia by releasing an iPhone app focused specifically on a one-off major sporting event – the NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final.
“This app complements the official NRL iphone application which was released earlier this year and which comprehensively covers the entire Telstra Premiership season.
“It also sits alongside the extensive coverage provided by NRL.com and the Big League official Grand Final program to ensure every fan’s Grand Final information needs are covered.”
The official Telstra Premiership Grand Final App is available now for $1.19 from the iTunes Apple App Store – just search for ‘NRL Final’.
Fans are encouraged to get in and download the app early so they can follow all the thrills and excitement ahead of Rugby League’s biggest day of the year.
