In the wake of Friday night’s comprehensive victory over front runners the Bulldogs, Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheens believes the Tigers will be a better side in 2010. <br><br>“The way we finished the season, that game included... sets us up for a better season next year,” the newly appointed Kangaroos coach admitted to Bigpond Sports Weekend.<br><br>“A lot of our guys have stepped up this year... overall we’ve performed better which is again why we look forward to next season.”<br><br>The Tigers finished the regular season in stellar form, despite a minor speed-bump against a red-hot Eels outfit in Round 25.<br><br>“[I’m] impressed with the fact that we finished with 7 wins out of the last 9, rather than just the last game.”<br><br>Sheens pinpointed key injuries and numerous close games as the main reason why the 2005 Premiers will not feature in the finals. <br><br>“When you have injury to key players your depth just not quite strong enough.<br><br>“We had 4 losses by 2 points or less... every club has got those games but we just have 1 or 2 more than most.<br><br>“Only twice this year we have got beat... losing a game and getting beat are two different things.<br><br>Taking the reins from Ricky Stuart as the Australian coach, Sheens spoke about his annoyance that a squad of only twenty-two can be taken to the Four Nation’s tournament at the end of the NRL season.<br><br>“I have argued that I don’t think it is [22 enough], particularly now too they have the Ashes up for grabs for that game against England, that’s another worry.<br><br>“I would like to think we’re going to get another player or two.”<br><br>Australia will play the Four Nation’s tournament against New Zealand, England and France- kicking off on 24th of October in London. <br><br><b><a href="http://bigpondvideo.com/Sports-Summer-Highlights/206609" target="_blank">CLICK HERE to view the entire BSW interview.</a></b><br>
