About the ARLIC
Established as a key objective of Rugby League’s 2008-09 Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and as outlined in the 2018 – 2022 RAP, the Australian Rugby League Indigenous Council (ARLIC) represents the views and ideas of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Indigenous) peoples and acts as a sounding board for the Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC), and the Game more broadly, in the development and revision of policies, procedures and programs.
The ARLIC provides strategic advice as required from time to time to all key stakeholders within the Game in line with the ARLC’s strategic plan. The ARLIC also provides strategic advice on the implementation of the RAP in its capacity as a member of the Game’s RAP Working Group.
The ARLIC, when requested, also acts as an independent arbiter to help resolve disputes involving Indigenous bodies or individuals within the Game.
National Rugby League respects and honours the Traditional Custodians of the land and pay our respects to their Elders past, present and future. We acknowledge the stories, traditions and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the lands we meet, gather and play on.
