Biography

Trent, nicknamed Hokko by friends, grew up in Campbelltown in New South Wales, Australia with his Mum, Dad and older brother. He was an energetic boy who loved to be active. Trent spent his childhood bodyboarding, wakeboarding, fishing and playing footy.  He started playing footy socially with his friends. Then when he was seven years old, Trent joined his first footy team and never looked back!

Trent’s parents took him to all his training sessions and games. Trent made wonderful bonds and friendships through Rugby League and enjoyed being part of the Rugby League community. He learnt about determination and resilience throughout his years playing NRL for his junior club, Cabramatta Two Blues.

Throughout his childhood, Trent watched and supported the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles with his dad. In 2010, after years of hard work and sacrifice, Trent stood in Coach Des Hasler’s office at the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and was invited to make his NRL debut. Trent had cheered on the sidelines his whole life for the team he would now represent! His family were extremely proud of him and Trent was proud of himself too!

Trent went on to have a wonderful NRL career playing for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs and Newcastle Knights. As well as his NRL debut, Trent’s career highlights were winning the State of Origin 2014 and playing in the 2014 Grand Final.

Now, Trent still loves his water sports and lives on the coast in Central Queensland with his wife and two children. He loves being a NRL ambassador as he loves helping others. Trent’s favourite community work is through the State of Mind program, League Stars Inspire and Roads to Regions.

Trent’s goal as an NRL ambassador is to make a change and help others, especially people in need.
