Floods Relief
Communities across QLD and NSW need urgent support.
Intense storms and rainfall across QLD and NSW have caused flash flooding across both states. Tens of thousands of homes and businesses are without power or have been damaged by floodwaters. People and families have been evacuated, and don’t know when they will be able to return home.
The flooding has also caused road closures, making it difficult for people to access support services, or for relief to reach them.
Donations to the QLD and NSW Floods Appeal will help Red Cross to provide vital humanitarian support to the people and communities affected by the floods.
Based on ongoing needs assessment in Queensland and NSW and amount raised, that support may include:
- Enabling volunteers and staff to help with evacuations, relief centres and outreach service
- Supporting people and communities to recover and to build resilience to disasters
NRL stars send messages of support to fans affected by floods
You can help make a difference for people and communities affected by the QLD and NSW floods. In the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed the amount required to meet the emergency needs of people in affected areas, or if there are circumstances beyond Red Cross’ control, excess funds will be directed to Red Cross’ broader disaster response and recovery work in Australia.
Channel Nine Jersey Auction
For those looking to add further support to the Floods Appeal, can also support the Channel Nine jersey auction which has a range of special Origin-worn jerseys up for auction including Brad Fittler, Jonathan Thurston, Billy Slater and Andrew Johns.
Over $64,000 has already been raised through the auction, which runs until midnight on March 26, with winners to be announced on the Sunday Footy Show.
