Jared Waerea-Hargreaves was sent off for a high shot on George Rose

Previous infringements are set to haunt Jared Waerea-Hargreaves with the Roosters enforcer facing a lengthy stint on the sidelines following his send-off in Monday night football.

Waerea-Hargreaves was charged on Tuesday by the NRL Match Review Committee with a Grade 1 Reckless High Tackle on Manly’s George Rose.

The incident happened in the 69th minute of the Roosters' 16-4 victory over the Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval.

The base penalty of the charge is 300 points, which means normally an early guilty plea would carry a two-match ban.

However three prior similar offences in the past two seasons means the New Zealand International was hit with a 150% loading to the original charge.

It means Waerea-Hargreaves faces a five-match suspension with an early guilty plea, or seven-matches if he contests the charge at the NRL judiciary and loses.

The Roosters prop would be free to play if he successfully fights the charge at the NRL judiciary.

The three previous infringements include a Grade 3 Careless High Tackle on Paul Gallen on August 20, 2011 and two separate Grade 1 Careless High Tackle's on Ben Ross and Jeff Robson in the same game on July 9, 2012.

Waerea-Hargreaves will have 10 points subtracted from his final charge due to the equivalent minutes that he missed for being sent-off.

Jake Friend was also charged by the NRL Match Review Committee with a Grade 1 Creless High Tackle on Manly forward Brent Kite, but the Roosters rake will not miss any games.

The Roosters will have until midday on Wednesday to enter a plea.
