Queensland captain Cameron Smith will be clear to take his place in Mal Meninga's side in the opening game of the 2015 Holden State of Origin series on May 27, with the Melbourne skipper cited for a grade one dangerous contact charge by the NRL match review committee.
With no carryover points or loading to be added, Smith took the early guilty plea and will escape suspension for the incident involving Rabbitohs hooker Issac Luke.
Sharks forward Luke Lewis also narrowly avoided suspension with the early plea, after he was slapped with a grade one dangerous throw charge for his challenge on Titans second-rower Dave Taylor.
Knights skipper Kurt Gidley will be free to play in Round 11 as he accepted an early guilty plea for a carless high tackle on Wests Tigers centre Chris Lawrence, likewise young Tigers prop Matthew Lodge, who was also charged for a careless high tackle in the same game.
