Canberra Raiders have bolstered their depth by signing former Canterbury Bulldogs hooker Craig Garvey on a one-year deal.
Garvey made his NRL debut in 2013 for the St George Illawarra Dragons before moving to the Bulldogs in 2016. He has played 23 NRL matches and has also represented NSW at under-20 level and the Indigenous All-Stars in 2016.
Garvey's arrival in Canberra coincides with the club releasing Adam Clydsdale and Erin Clark.
Raiders NRL recruitment and high-performance manager Peter Mulholland said signing Garvey gave the squad some depth in the hooker position after the release of the Clydsdale and Clark.
"Craig is a talented hooker who at 24 years of age is still learning and developing as a player who we believe can be a valuable addition to our squad in 2018," Mulholland said.
"Adam Clydsdale has decided to retire from rugby league to pursue a career with his family business and we wish him all the best for the future.
"Erin Clark has also been granted a release from the remainder of his contract with the club, so having Craig in our squad gives us some stability in the squad."
