The second VB NSW Cup Preliminary Final at Leichhardt Oval this Sunday will see minor premiers the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs take on Sydney Roosters feeder and foundation club, the Newtown Jets in what promises to be a massive game.
After captain and halfback, Daniel Mortimer coolly slotted a penalty goal in golden point extra time last week against the North Sydney Bears to keep the Jets season alive, Newtown will now have to back up against the current defending premiers, and the most consistent side this season.
The Bulldogs, bolstered by the return of representative hooker Shane Pumipi, and NRL forward Dene Halatau sees Canterbury-Bankstown head into the game with no less than 11 players with NRL experience and as favourites.
The winner of the clash will progress to the 2012 VB NSW Cup Grand Final at ANZ Stadium on Sunday September 30.
