Whether you are involved in Rugby League as a female participant, volunteer, match official, staff member, coach, or supporter, it is that time of year again where all our female fans have the opportunity to nominate the NRL star they believe acts as a role model to young players and whose off-field characteristics embody the true values of our Rugby League community.
Past winners of the Harvey Norman Favourite Son Award have included Hazem El Masri, Nathan Hindmarsh, Luke Burt and Petero Civoniceva and this year women in our game can nominate from the following finalists: Dene Halatau (Bulldogs), Scott Prince (Broncos), Dallas Johnson (Cowboys), Ben Creagh (Dragons), Danny Buderus (Knights), Roy Asotasi (Rabbitohs), Anthony Minichiello (Roosters), Bryan Norrie (Storm) and Simon Mannering (Warriors).
Established in 2009, the Harvey Norman Favourite Son Award kicks off almost a month of celebrations for the 2013 Harvey Norman Women in League Round (Round 10, May17-20) which pays tribute to over 60,000 female volunteers, officials, players, employees and administrators at the heart of the game.
Female fans have one week to make their vote count with online voting starting tomorrow, Thursday May 2, and ending on Thursday May 9 at www.nrl.com - the winner to be announced on Tuesday, May 14 at the 2013 Harvey Norman Women in League Sydney Lunch.
The first of four official Harvey Norman Women in League events begins this week in Darwin on Thursday (May 2), followed by Canberra (May 7), Bryon Bay (May 9) and finally Sydney (May 14).
