A couple of Roosters led the way with 90+ scores in Round 9, while Nicho Hynes went big once again and rewarded the third of all coaches who captained him.
Hynes is running hot right now, but some of the data suggests there could be a small drop off coming in Round 10, while a surprise contender has emerged at the top end of the Fantasy consistency chart.
NRL Fantasy by the numbers: Round 9
How long will the purple patch last for Hynes?
As far as Fantasy hot streaks go you’ll struggle to find one better than what Nicho Hynes is on right now. With an average score of 82.8 through his past five games, and 95 through his past three, Hynes has been far and away the best player in the game for the past month and a bit.
The next best player over the last three games is Angus Crichton, whose average for that period is a whopping 18.7 points lower than that of Nicho. The question now is whether or not Hynes can continue it in Round 10 against his former side the Storm, who have traditionally been able to handle him well. Last year when Cronulla got pumped 54-10 by Melbourne, Hynes did remarkably well to still hit 62 points, but in his only other game against the Storm back in 2022 he had a modest 45.

Injury blows continue for popular picks
News of a fibula fracture for Ryan Papenhuyzen, which will sideline him for 4-6 weeks, has left his 97,000 owners facing a forced trade out this week. If you feel like you’re burning through the trades, you won’t be the only one, with Papenhuyzen becoming the latest highly-owned player to spend time on the sideline in 2024.
All up six of the 15 most selected players at this stage of the season have spent time with a red dot next to their name, whether through injury, suspension or form. While some coaches have opted to hold onto players through those periods, others – like Fantasy’s most traded out player Ben Trbojevic – have used up valuable trades at an early stage of the season.
Consistent Kayal
It’s not something you expect from a rookie in NRL Fantasy, much less one who plays centre, but Kayal Iro is fast becoming one of the most consistent scorers in the game.
The $472k Shark heads into Round 10 with a consistency rating of 74, which puts him third equal among all players in terms of scoring consistency this season. Almost half of all teams own him at this point and it’s not hard to understand why, with his lowest score being a 37 and the majority of his points coming via run metres and tackles. Isaah Yeo continues to lead the pack with a consistency rating of 77 and an elite season average of 65 points per game.
