NEW ZEALAND
1. Kevin Locke – Made the line break that led to the Kiwis' opening try and looked lively throughout after getting the nod over Josh Hoffman at fullback. 7.5
2. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck – The young gun grabbed a first-half try, ran 80 metres to score another in the second half, and finished the match with three line breaks and a whopping 10 tackle breaks. Took out the Man of the Match award and is a superstar of the future. 9
3. Dean Whare – Excellent in defence and added some spark in attack with three offloads. 7.5
4. Bronson Goodwin – Scored New Zealand's first try and snatched another with a great leap to bring down a Kieran Foran kick late in the contest. 8
5. Manu Vatuvei – Did well to snuff out an attacking kick in his own in-goal to deny Scotland the game's first points, scored himself in the second half and was denied another try by the video ref. It was a fun night to be a New Zealand winger. 7.5
6. Kieran Foran – Laid on a try for Frank Pritchard and sent in a pinpoint kick to gift Bronson Goodwin another four-pointer. Controlled the game well. 8
7. Shaun Johnson – Missed half his eight conversion attempts but scored a try and defended well with 18 tackles. 7.5
8. Ben Matulino – A solid effort in a game built for backline players, with eight carries and 24 tackles. 7
9. Issac Luke – Busted the Scotland defensive line to set up New Zealand's first try and was always a threat out of dummy half. 8
10. Jesse Bromwich – Got in on the try-scoring action by crashing his way over the line in the first half. 7.5
11. Frank Pritchard – New Zealand's best forward, particularly with Sonny Bill Williams on the sidelines in the second half. Got amongst the tries in the Kiwis' first-half blitz, ran 15 times for 161 metres and provided three offloads. 8.5
12. Sonny Bill Williams – Went down injured from a tackle in the first minute of the match but recovered to lay on the first try before setting up another for Shaun Johnson. Was rested in the second half with the game in the bag. 7.5
13. Simon Mannering – Led the defensive effort with 34 tackles. 7.5
14. Elijah Taylor – Had a limited impact off the bench. 6
15. Jared Wearea-Hargreaves – A great effort off the bench, with 16 carries, two offloads, three tackle busts and 23 tackles. 8
16. Frank-Paul Nuuausala – Solid off the bench. 6.5
17. Sam Moa – Made nine hitups and an offload in a decent outing. 6.5
SCOTLAND
1. Matthew Russell – Popped a couple off offloads but couldn't match his attacking displays from the group matches. 6.5
2. David Scott – Had some good involvement with 11 runs. 6.5
3. Ben Hellewell – The only member of the Bravehearts' backline to not miss a tackle, making a dozen. 7
4. Kane Linnett – Made a couple of errors and sent a wayward kick straight at Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, opening the door to the Kiwis' 80-metre try. He did at least provide his team's only try assist. 6
5. Alex Hurst – Almost stole a try with a first-half intercept only to put the ball down, although he did go over for Scotland's first and only points with 15 minutes left. Conceded a couple of penalties as well in a mixed display. 6
6. Danny Brough – Split open New Zealand's defence early on with a sharp sidestep and did it again in the second half with a chip and chase. Finally engineered his team's first points by kicking a 40/20 into the breeze before throwing the long ball that led to Hurst's try. The man to make things happen for Scotland. 8
7. Peter Wallace – Did a lot of tackling but not much else. 6
8. Adam Walker – A decent effort from the prop with nine hitups and two offloads. 6.5
9. Ian Henderson – Scotland's top tackler with 44, although he did miss half a dozen as the Kiwis ran riot. 7
10. Luke Douglas – Led Scotland's strong defensive effort in the first half, finishing with 33 tackles, and made more metres than any other Braveheart as well. 8
11. Danny Addy – Had a few lapses in defence but did his job in attack with 13 carries and a couple of offloads. 6
12. Brett Phillips – Tested out in defence but had a limited impact in attack. 6
13. Ben Kavanagh – Struggled to find decent metres but tried hard with nine hitups. 6
14. Andrew Henderson – The bench hooker was serviceable at best. 5
15. Oliver Wilkes – No great impact. 5.5
16. Alex Szostak – Got through 23 tackles off the bench. 6.5
17. Sam Barlow – The best of the bench, with 10 hitups and no missed tackles. 7
