Mitchell Moses has capped off a stellar season to be named Wests Tigers Player of the Year, as well as Players' Player at the club's presentation night on Tuesday.
Having shown glimpses of his undoubted talent over the past two years, 2016 was a breakout season for the 21-year-old who produced easily his most consistent football for the Tigers.
In 23 matches, Moses finished the year as the Tigers' leading points scorer (113), had the most try assists (18), most kick metres (4,850) and was third in line breaks (15).
The five-eighth became the focal point of the Tigers' attack as the season wore on, and it came as no surprise that their spike in form coincided with his extra workload.
Speaking to NRL.com following the event at Le Montage in Sydney, Moses explained how a frank discussion with Jason Taylor and the rest of the coaching staff helped him improve from what he admitted was an underwhelming 2015 season.
"I sat down with JT and the coaching staff at the start of the year and they let me know that they weren't happy with the footy I was playing," he said.
"I took all that on board and talked to them about the sort of footy I wanted to play and how I thought we could get the best out of me.
"JT and the coaching staff were open to those ideas and we devised a plan to work around me and it's been massive for the team.
"Coming off last year's performance, I thought my footy wasn't up to scratch, so to win this award and be recognised as the Players' Player means a lot.
"It means that the boys appreciate having me by their side every week so I'll take a lot out of that. I'll probably get a lot more confidence out of it going into next year.
"For the boys to recognise me as one of the biggest assets in the team and for them to think so highly of me is very special."
Moses admitted Sunday's heavy loss to the Canberra Raiders still hurt, especially because it cost the Tigers a spot in the finals series.
And while the season might have finished poorly, Moses sent a clear message to the fans, declaring the Tigers would be even better in 2017.
"We were really upset with how we finished the year in that last game. We know that wasn't us," he bemoaned.
"It's pretty upsetting to finish like that, especially when our season was on the line. We'll take plenty from what we did this year and I can't wait for next year to start."
Moses wasn't the only big winner on the night, with Josh Aloiai named Rookie of the Year, Jordan Grant declared ISP Player of the Year, while boom youngster Taniela Paseka took out Holden Cup Player of the Year and Players' Player.
Star fullback James Tedesco was voted Members' Player of the Year, while Chris Lawrence and the retiring Dene Halatau were inducted as life members of the club.
