Jack Reed will this morning announce his retirement from the National Rugby League.
The Broncos centre has been forced to hang up the boots due to complications from a serious shoulder injury he suffered this year.
Despite surgery and intensive rehabilitation attempts since then, it has become apparent that his shoulder will never recover sufficiently to enable him play rugby league again.
As a result, Jack has accepted the advice from his medical team that he has suffered a career-ending injury, and has made the difficult decision to retire from the game, effective immediately.
Reed, who has played 126 NRL games for the Broncos also played five Tests for the country of his birth, England, and was an NRL All Star in 2012.
"It is a disappointing end for Jack but he can be very proud of what he has been able to achieve in his six years at the Broncos," said chief executive Paul White.
