Eisenhuth re-signs with Wests Tigers

Wests Tigers lock Matt Eisenhuth has signed a new two-year deal to remain at Wests Tigers through to the end of 2019.

The tireless forward made his NRL debut in Round 15 of the 2017 Telstra Premiership season, eventually earning a starting spot and pushing fellow workhorse Elijah Taylor out of the No.13 jersey.

Upon signing his new contract Eisenhuth said it was a simple decision to recommit to the club.

"For me, it was a pretty easy decision to extend my time here," Eisenhuth said via a club statement.

"This club stood by me and gave me a shot nobody else was and they rewarded me with a debut and constant first-grade, so in my mind, I wasn’t looking to go anywhere else.

"It’s been a long road and I’ve had some ups and downs,” he said. “I think I’ve been improving week in and week out, so I’m very happy to be here for the next couple of years."

Eisenhuth is the second player in as many days to re-sign with the club, with the Tigers announcing vice-captain Taylor had also agreed to a new deal on Wednesday.
