The Eels have booked their place in the quarter-finals after easing past the Warriors 17-0, in a result which ends the hometown side's hopes of advancing.

After a sloppy start to the match saw both teams waste some opportunities with the ball it was the Warriors who broke first, falling victim to a clever Corey Norman grubber in behind the line which left Bevan French to burn his marker for speed and score a bonus zone try.

Norman converted and Parramatta never looked back, scoring again through Honeti Tuha and Semi Radradra either side of half-time to secure the shut-out victory.

The Eels will now face Manly on day two to decide who tops the Piha Pool, while the Warriors are left to lament their worst ever finish at the tournament.

Eels 17 (Bevan French, Honeti Tuha, Semi Radradra tries; 2 goals) def. Warriors 0. Half-time: 11-0.
