Brisbane winger Greg Eden concedes he has room to improve after a poor NRL debut in which he made a series of uncharacteristic mistakes.
The Englishman made four errors in a below-average performance as he struggled against a well-beaten Parramatta side.
It was a huge fall from grace for Eden who starred in Brisbane's World Club Series win over his old club Wigan just two weeks prior.
The dour performance is unlikely to faze Eden who has been chasing his NRL dream since he was a young boy growing up in the north of England.
Eden's first crack at Australian rugby league came when he moved to Australia five years ago, playing 9th division for the Temora Dragons.
This experience proved to be the first stepping-stone towards his NRL debut as he returned to England's Super League a better player.
That part of his journey now seems a long time ago and it's a relief for Eden to finally achieve his goal of playing at the top level.
He admits he still has a lot to learn if he wants to make a career out of his tenure at the Broncos.
"I made up my mind as a young kid when I was 9 or 10-years-old that I wanted to play in the NRL. To finally do it is pretty relieving for me and I do feel proud," Eden said.
"I need to cut out those unforced errors. There were a couple there that you wouldn't expect your winger to make.
"I'll try and get more involved. I need to look for work in the middle of the field and make sure I get a few more carries."
Eden now hopes to cement his position in Brisbane's star-studded backline for 2016.
It will be a tough ask though, with the likes of Lachlan Maranta and Jack Reed pushing for selection as they return from injury.
Eden says he is happy with his progression as a player and to have finally earned the trust of coach Wayne Bennett, with the veteran coach originally refusing to play the 25-year-old in his first year at the club in 2015.
"There were times last year that I came up with a few silly errors around the play-the-ball and in my passing. I wasn't concentrating. I think I improved a lot over the pre-season and that’s why he now trusts me," he said.
"I need to nail down a spot by playing well and hopefully that will give Wayne a headache on who to pick each week because we have so much depth at this club.
"It's going to be an exciting game this week. First game at Suncorp and I'm looking forward to it."
Eden's selection for Brisbane this week means he will be faced with the tough ask of diffusing bombs from the Warriors' star playmaker Shaun Johnson.
Johnson and his Warriors teammates will be looking to prove they are a team to fear after a deplorable loss to Wests Tigers in Round 1.
A large crowd is expected at Suncorp Stadium as New Zealand make their first appearance at the ground since their 28-22 loss to the Broncos in 2014.
