The Cowboys have unveiled a surprise new signing for the 2014 season with Australia's greatest ever female golfer, Karrie Webb, signing on as a member.

The winner of more major championships than any other Australian golfer – male or female – Webb recently picked up her Cowboys member pack from her home town of Ayr before heading back to the United States for her 19th season on the LPGA Tour.

“The Cowboys are definitely my team,” said Webb, who has 55 career titles including seven majors.

“I keep a check on how we’re doing when I’m over in the States and I have a feeling this is going to be our year. I’m definitely wishing them all the best.

“They’ve done really well to make the finals three years in a row, especially their late charge last year when just about everyone counted them out, and now we just need to take that next step.

“I love the membership pack and I’ll be showing my Cowboys colours with pride during the year.

“One day when I slow down from playing, I’ll be home at the right time of the year to go to some games.”
